You don't want to wind up with a real mess backing into your home. OK Sanitary Service Inc. is here to prevent that from happening.
Our fully licensed and insured company has been working on septic and holding tanks of all kinds since 1986. So no matter how much help you need, we're the professional team to handle the job.
Holding tanks do just what they say, holding everything after you turn on your water, flush a toilet, do a load of laundry, etc. When the tank is full, your alarm should go off to alert you.
Working alarms: Required by the county, these alert you when your tank is full and to call OK Sanitary Service to prevent backup from entering your house or running out onto the ground surface. Note: In freezing weather, tanks running over will freeze and cause major damage.
Water use: Average water use in a home is 50 gallons of water per day per person. For example, a family of 4 with a 4,000 gallon holding tank could need to have their tank pumped in less than a month.
4 people x 50 gallons = 200 gallons per day
4000 gallons / 200 gallons per day = 20 days
Also known as a POWTS (Privately Owned Water Treatment System), these systems collect all waste and water coming from your house. The bacteria in the tanks then breaks down solids to let the liquid flow out to the drainfield or mound to be filtered again. More precautions are needed by the homeowner to ensure the system works properly. Please reread the above sections to see some of the things you should or shouldn't do.
Note: Mound systems have alarms to warn you when something is wrong with your pump. If you hear it, call a plumber or OK Sanitary Service right away!
Note: Many of the newer mounds today also have a filter that should be cleaned at least once a year. Counties also require you to pump or have tanks inspected at least once every 3 years.
